Vision Boards: How To Make One & Manifest Your Dream Life
Happy January! I hope everyone is fresh and rejuvenated after all those holidays and getting back into that routine. Sometimes it takes longer than a day or two, and that's okay! But now its time for new beginnings and new goals, and what better way to do that than by making a vision board!
It's almost become a buzzword by now: vision boards. But what are they? What do they do? Are they worth the time and effort? YES. Vision boards have the power to not only help you define what you truly want in life, but to help you achieve that.
So lets start with the basics.
A vision board is a board, any size, that you paste pictures, words, images, etc. to that represent how you want your life to look like, what you want to achieve, and things you admire or people you look up to for inspiration. It can be full of pictures from Pinterest or pictures you've taken on your own, or pictures cut out of a variation of magazines. Wherever you find your pictures, make sure they mean something to you or symbolize something. That way, when you look at your vision board, you'll look at the photos and be reminded of how you want your life to look, and then work toward it.
Basically, vision boards are full of pictures and words that inspire you to be a better you and to go after your dreams. The way they work is that when you look at your boards, you'll be super inspired and energized to go after whatever it is that will get you to that place! In addition, there's this powerful thing called manifestation.
Manifestation is when an item, person or dream is actualized through the act of aligning one's beliefs, feelings, energy and trusting in its realization (Free and Native).
In this way, we can use manifestation to literally, make our dreams come true. If we have them staring at us on the daily, we are constantly reminded of them, of how we want our lives to look, that we become much more focused on attaining that. We become empowered to make these objects, peoples, experiences real and attainable.
There's a catch though.
You really have to believe in the power of visualization and manifestation for it to really work. That means you have to allow the universe and its power to align with your authentic beliefs and feelings so that you can see your dreams come to you. Yes, I really do mean the universe. Just believe in it, and good things will happen to you. You have to trust it and allow the whole manifestation process to happen.
So figure out what it is you want in your life. Be it a certain vacation, a certain person, home or feeling; big or small, expensive or priceless, living or dead, anything. Find pictures and words that symbolize those things (or are flat out images of those things) that speak to you personally. And thats one step already done. Then, once you visually and tangibly place them before you, your dreams and goals may be ready to be attained!
So back to the literal stuff. Cut all your pictures out and arrange them on your poster board whatever way feels right to you. Paste them down so they're there forever! :) Don't focus on making it perfect, or deciding what goes best where. Where your gut tells you to put it is where it belongs!
Then, once your vision board is perfect in its own, unique way, place is somewhere where you will see it at least once a day, preferably in the morning. It will always be a reminder of the life you are living now and the future you desire!
Remember there is no right or wrong way to do this, really. It's about what feels right to you! So make something that you love looking at and feel inspired by to DO THINGS.
If you decided to take a step in manifesting and make your dreams realities, then making a vision board is the perfect place to start. Let me know if you've ever made one before or if you plan on it, I'd LOVE to see as many vision boards as possible!
